4.0l motor

I purchased a 99 4.ol wrangler a couple weeks ago and this my first time owning a jeep. anyways im new to the 4.ol motor is there any difference in the 4.ol in the wrangler and the jeep cherokee 4.ol. reason why im asking is because i live three miles from a pick-a-part and they have a ton of cherokee's just wondering if the starters, altenater's and such are interchangeable it all looks the same to me.

Yes most parts are interchangeable. The starters and alternators are the same part number as is most other engine parts given close the same year models.

How much newer???Hopefully you got injector rail and all just in case because I am not sure if the injectors will fit into your rail if it is more than a year or so newer. They may be
the very same but not sure.I know on some of the newer ones the pressure rating of the injectors are higher than the ones from the older ones.I looked and what I have found is 97-99 are the same but 00-04 went to a longer style.Just compare them to yours before removing.
