4inch+33s vs 2.5inch+31s

Uhm, im posting another thread for my brother, this one is for comparison between the 2.5inch lift with 31's and the 4inch lift with 33s. pictures of both would be very helpful.. side-by-side comparison between the two is even better im just trying to get my brother a good idea of a look to go for with his jeep, its pretty much stock in regard to height, minus his 31s. I got no pics of his jeep, but id like to see pics of both of these setups for a good look at what we are jumping into I have a wrangler also, and the 4inch and 33s look pretty good on my yj.. well anyway.. lets see those lifted wranglers! lift size, type, price, tire size are also helpful

2"-2 1/2" lift = $100+
4" lift = $1500+ (to do it right without vibes)

Most will also need to factor in the SYE/CV, Steering upgrades, brakelines, control arms and lots of other goodies to make the 4" lift work right, be safe, and be reliable.

And you do not need a 4" for 33. You can do it with a 2-2 1/2 + 1 1/2 - 2" body lift a lot cheaper.

You could always compromise. I have a 2.5" suspension lift and 1.25" body lift and am bumpstopped correctly and run 33s nicely.

31s fit on a stock rig. Do the 2.5 and 33s cut a little on the flairs and bump stop your up travel and get longer travel shocks to add down travel

1st pic - Is stock height and fenders with 33x10.50r15 BFGoodrich A/T AT's...

2nd pic - Is stock height with the 33x10.50r15's with Bushwacker Flat Fenders (with stock fenders the front tires would rub a wee bit)... I think the fender were about $300ish.

3rd pic - Then I lifted her with 4 1/2 and 35x12.50r15's Dick Cepek's...

Hope this helps out...

IMO....I would do 2.5" lift w/ 1"-1.25" BL and 33's. Will work fine.

ah ic, I have rocked both 31s and 33s, first pic is 31s with a 2in. skyjacker budget boost, the way I bought it, second pic I have a skyjacker 4 in. sport lift rides much nicer with the new suspension.

Stock carrier fits just fine and hasn't damaged it at all.
