I have a question for all you Jeep mechanics out there. I just purchsed a 2004 Tj with a 4.0 6cyl. 5speed manual transmission and 83k on it. Stock suspension and tire size, no lift or modification to drive train.
When the you get the Jeep at around 2000 to 2400 RPM in 5th gear and going about 55-65 MPH you feel a slight rough vibration in the gas pedal and floor boards when the gas is applied. When you let off the gas it is smooth. You do not have this slight vibration in any other gear at that same RPM, which tells me it is not the engine.I had the Jeep dealer look at it and their transmission guy said it is nothing to be concerned about. All the fluids have just been changed in the axles, transfer case, and transmission. Has anyone had these symptoms before? I have been told that every Jeep has its own characteristics but this does not seem normal to me.
Thanks in advance.
