6" Fender Flares?

I've got a 2000 TJ with a 4" lift and 31 x 10.50 bfg a/t's. I want to get some new fender flares and I'm looking at some 6 inchers, but would they be overkill on that narrow of a tire? Anybody know or anybody have any pics? They are cheaper than the 4 3/4" bushwackers (which would probably be perfect), but I gotta save $$ where I can.

It depends on a few things. What is the width and backspacing for your wheels? What do your state laws say regarding tire coverage? Will you like the look?

I have a two inch suspension lift, one inch body lift, and 33x10.50s on 15x8.5 wheels with 4.1 inches of backspacing with 6.5 inch flares. I'll get some pics for you after work.

According to the state I've got to cover the tires completely with the fender flares, even though I've got mud flaps. I'm not sure what my backspacing is, but my tires stick out about 1" or so past the stock flares. I'm just afraid that those 6 inchers will stick out too far for my liking. Pics will be great if you get a chance, the width of your tires is similar to mine so it should give me a ballpark of what it would look like. Thanks!

These are what Rugged Ridge labels as "7" flares" with stock rims and narrow tires (285 75 r15 which I think is 32" tall and 11" wide).
Amazon.com: Rugged Ridge 11608.11 7" Fender Flare Kit for TJ Jeep Wrangler 1997-2006 - 6 Piece: Automotive

This is them after 4" backspacing rims (15x8) and 33x12.5x15 tires.

They looked like wings with the skinny wheels.

Hope it helps.

Your tires will be swimming in those fender flares. I recommend some factory Rubicon/Unlimited flares or the Bushwackers you mentioned. I know they are expensive....

However, if you don't like the look of the 6 inchers you can always go back to your factory flares. You may get a new appreciation of them, I did.

Xenon 6" Flat Flares over 31x10.50x15 tires. Of course they look better over a 12.5" tire but if your looking for complete coverage to satisfy law enforcement they don't look bad.

Before the 33x12.50x15 MTR's
