6" rough country lift-$999?!

anyone have this lift? seems like a hell of a deal, you get shocks, upper and lower control arms, and a track bar. are these kits any good?

Ummm don't do it. 6"'s on a short arm lift is way too much. Also the quality of the kit is subpar and I speak from experience. Of all the things you'll buy and add to your Jeep the suspension is one of the most important. Take your time and search around as there are lots of better quality "kits" out there. In other words, make the investment in your suspension once.

What size tires are you planning on running? With a properly setup suspension you can still run some pretty big tires on a shorter (4 inch or so) lift.

i would like to run some of those 34" narrow super swampers, so i figured at least 4" should do it. then i saw rough country has a 6" lift for a low price. are they not a good brand?

Nope not a good brand. I had their 4" short arm lift and slowly had to replace almost every piece of junk in the kit. It's not a good quality suspension.

Side note - I used to run 34's on a 4" lift and it was perfect. If I were you I would look around for a 4" short arm of better quality and run with it.

Look at Rubicon Express, Full Traction (good product shitty customer service), Old Man Emu (technically not a 4" but would still work for what you're wanting to do), Clayton Offroad, Currie and RockKrawler.

dont forget the rancho 2.5 rockcrawler lift........by far my favorite kit out of the ten ive owned........include the custom suspension i have now......only prob with this kit is you might need a 2 in body to clear 34s but i would venture to say that this kit will flex with the best of them and is the most complete ive ever seen
