60k maintenance

So, my tj rolled over the 60,000 mile mark recently. I was going to bring her in for the factory maintenance, but they told me it was going to be more than $800 and an all day thing.

I'm fairly technical, and one of the reasons I bought the jeep was to start doing my own work on a car, but I have limited experience working on a car. I've just been so busy lately, and moving so much, I don't really have a place to do any work on it which is why i've been putting it off.

My question is, how important is this maintenance? Most of what they do is easy cheesy stuff I can handle, but what about things like transmission fluid flush? Should I worry about doing this? Is it possible for me to do this myself in a few hours of work?

You veterans are probably laughing at me for being such a n00b, but hey, I've gotta start somewhere :P

Thanks for any input!

Most of the maintenance you can do yourself, as for the tranny flush, I'd be more inclined to take it to a lube shop and have them do it.
