I remember someone saying in the forums that this would fit the jeep. Dana 35 and ford 8.8 w/ 3.73 gears can someone verify?

Yes you can put a ford 8.8 axle in the rear of a tj. But it will require that you do alot of work to put it in there. Cut off the old leaf spring perches, buy and weld on tj coil perches / shock mounts/ etc.

A ford ranger D35 that comes with the 8,8 in that ad is a front differential and is only a center housing..." IFS" axle.

You can not put 8.8 gears in a dana 35 axle. Nor can you put the gears from the Ford d35 housing into your jeeps rear dana35.

Are you looking for a used unit or new?
Are you wanting to upgrade to a stronger axle or just repair the one you have?

It can be from any year, not just a 99. Are you sure you have 3.55 gears though? They only came in 97. After that, they were bumped to 3.73's.

Then its time to start making your search area bigger. There's a 4x4 shop somewhere not too far away from you and it's time to find it.

Indeed. NJ is filled with jeepers and PE is also. Check the local craigslist in your area and post up some wanted adds too.

I know Rauch Creek is not to far from you and is a HUGE gathering place for jeepers from all around.
