99 Wrangler

Ahhhh yet another nub posting a question about a lift and asking for suggestions. I have a 99 4.0 with 150K+ miles on it. It runs perfect and was well taken care of and I love it! I have new fender flares ready to put on and it finds itself in the mud maybe once a month or so. I currently have perfectly fine 31's with aftermarket rims and plan on upgrading to 32's maybe at most 33's.The Jeep is my DD and the lift is primarily for cosmetic first off-road performance second. I am on a budget probably around $3-400 dollars and want to do a 2" budget boost lift. I know I need new shocks as I still have stock. I was thinking of doing Rancho 5000 shocks with Trail Master Suspension JTJ22 - TrailMaster 2" Spring Spacer Lift for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec this 2" budget boost kit. Are there any other essentials I would need to buy besides the 2" rancho shocks and this kit? Do you guys have any suggestions for a better 2" budget boost kit? Here is a picture of my Jeep without the new fender flares.

Paint your fender flares and do not bother replacing them. I had a Teraflex budget boost on my old Rubicon and it was decent. IMO, Trailmaster is an old brand from the early 90's, kind of like Ruff Country. Probably not the best choice.

Rubicon Express is another popular budget boost manufacturer

The guy I bought the Jeep from bought the flairs. I have had a hard time replacing them because all the bolts on my flairs seem to be stripped. I do have a guy I work with that knows a lot about Jeeps and will be helping me. I was just curious about what is the best budget boost without shocks.

I really appreciate all feedback! I know you guys have been there and done that!

Yjere are some very informative threads on here about removing the flares; some of the bolts are have nutserts, some have a plastic washer that needs to be held. Pulling the flares isn't as easy as it seems like it should be.
But, I pulled mine when I repainted them, and I don't regret pulling them.

Sell the new flairs and add the money to lift money. 1 can of Krylon Fusion and they look like new.
