A Few Questions

Okay, to start, my wrangler is my DD, it is the 2.5L 4 cyl. Auto. w/ 3.73 gears.
I'm thinking my first mods are going to be a 2 in. lift and new tires. I have a couple of questions:

1.)What do you guys think about the Pro Comp Explorer Stage 1 2 in coil lift? It comes w/ 4 pro comp shocks.

2.)I'm thinking about 31X10.50 Buckshots on it. I'm not real knowledgeable a/b tires, so could I put those on stock wheels? Any comments on the brand of tire?

Thanks in advance!

You can run 31's without a lift. If you do put a 2 inch lift on go with 32's.

Okay. I think i'm definitely going with a 2 in. lift. So, with the 32's and the 2 in. lift, will I have to worry about any rubbing?

No rubbing. I run 31's with no lift and i have no rubbing. Some people say when you run 31's with no lift you will have to adjust your steering stops, but i didnt.

Thanks, do you have any (or know anyone who has) experience with the Pro Comp lift? What about the stock wheels? Can I use them or do I need to spring for something else?

At full compression (disconnected) you will get rubbing and bend the fender lips up a bit. With 32's you will increase that bending by .5".

Real simple fix that will cost you some pocket change.

You can put 31's on stock wheels but will get full turn rubbing.
For even less pocket change.

I would not run 32's with stock wheels. I have driven a Jeep like that and the turning radius was in my opinion a joke. If you are buying wheels then plan for 33's and get a wheel with 3.75" backspace.

personally i think the 31's will be fine. your DEFINITELY gonna rub your fender flares with the 32's unless you extend your bumpstops. and it will be an absolute MUST if you want to disco. go for the 31's so you can keep the stock wheels and not lose too much power. you may need the steering adjustment.

Since you have a 4 banger and an auto, I would definitely go with 31's unless you plan to regear in the future. Going with bigger tires you will lose some power and have trouble keeping speed up hills on the highway. I have this problem with mine (I run 32's with 2 in lift) but I am able to downshift, since mine is a manual, and that helps alot.

Thanks guys! I think i'll stick with the 31x10.50 for now. I may want to regear later, but by that time I'll probably go ahead and spring for something w/ 6 cylinders.
