It might look small, but go by the motor and cable pull rating, just don't exceed that and you should be ok. Oh and you want small, My winch is a 2 ton come along and a old 25' log chain, for now anyway until the day I can afford to buy one.

I wish I could afford a nice winch, then again I have pulled out a lot of 10 ton trucks who were buried to the frame with a $40 tow strap.

I would go all or nothing on a winch, I have seen small cheap ones snap and take out a windshield.
