A name that part and can i do this thread!

Im in the process of wiring my windshield lights, and wanted to know what is the black lip thing at the bottom beside the windshield motor inside the cowl

I push it a bit down and passed the cables from the motor through there and then pull it back to its position is that ok? Or do i need to drill a hole

Thanks

Now I may be mistaken but it's one of the intake cowls that ends up getting clogged with debris and leaves and allows water to leak into the passenger side compartment. It's simple to test if it's okay, take a hose and spray water at it! If you're leaking on the passenger side, then that's not gonna work and use another firewall.
