Yesterday, a guy at local 4WD shop offered to sell me his axels (complete) for $800. One is a D30 the other a D44, I am going to offer to buy the 44 alone but don't know what a fair price for it is. He's only got 37k on the odo and the diff is an LS. Any help would be appreciated.
flowmaster40,hpd30 with aussie locker,currie upper joints,4.88's, lca skids,chromo shafts,vanco brakes,d35 with super 35 and arb locker,re 4.5" springs,currie arms,re front uppers,Re shocks in back,walkerevens shocks up front, Re track bars with currie jj joints,anti rock,ss brake lines,re rear sway bar links,jks 1.25" bl and mml,bfg 35x12.5 km2's,craiger soft 8's,ome steering stabilizer,currie hd steering,rockmen front bumper,emp tank skid,lots more too.
I'd say to buy both of them and then rape the D30 of it's shafts. Carry them around as spares and sell the housing locally on Craigslist or something for 150 or so. I did the same thing. Needed a locker for my 30. Bought an entire axle with a locker for 200. Took the locker and shafts and turned the other housing out for 175. I figured 25 bucks was good for spares.
You should also be able to sell your complete D35 for around 150-200 also. So could make for a pretty cheap upgrade.
