Ace TJ Rock Sliders

Has anyone installed the Ace rock sliders? My box came with 4 spacer looking things and the sliders. I can't figure out how to install. Any help is appreciated.

No instructions in the box or online. They did have JK instructions but the parts were different and there were no spacer looking parts.

would they attach at the body mount bolts? here's what it said on the site: Easy installation? Check. Our rails are designed to attach to your existing mounting bracket. A quick grind to the stock washer and you’re good to go

Here's a thread with info and pics on a JK, I think it'll be similar on a TJ. http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/ace...ms-111872.html

I checked them out online, they're really just a (good looking) step, right? they don't offer the same protection as this, do they? I'm just wondering 'cause I'm planning on going with the one's in the pic, is that overkill?

There is no washers to grind down on the tj version. I had a 1.25 body lift on my jeep. I had to buy longer bolts to get it to work.Dave took notes on this so be sure to let them know if you have a body lift. Give Dave a call, he will help you out anyway he can.

Thanks to all!! terminator, I guess I was confused about where to install the small tubular mounts or if they are optional. I saw your install pics (looks great) and if I'm not mistaken' you remove the bolt, mount the sliders and replace the bolts?

Those look like they're well made. What are the pros/cons of these rock rails? I noticed that they have only two mounting points. I have the Rubicon rocker guards that I've yet to install and think that these rock rails be a good combination.

the kind that were installed you would loose ground clearance. the tub mounted allows for the most clearance.

i know this is old and you may of fixed them already but i just purchased the ace rock rails(along with my tj month ago) and wasn't sure how to mount them also so i did a search with no real info. i tried it just like you have yours but didn't seem right so i called ACE. And they talked me threw it.

You remove the rubber grommet from under completely(leaving the top body mount) and insert the metal cup with the flat side towards the ground and tighten them and finished. Doing it this way does kind of push the plastic side flare a bit so could take them off or live with it.

on a side not while talking to them they did say there are gettin a TJ in soon to make a video about insulation so that is a plus
