Actually Selling it... What's fair?

Hi all- today's the 4th of July and I figure it's a good time to put a sign in the window and see how much I can get for my Jeep.

It's a 1998 with 106000 miles. 4 cylinder automatic. It's pretty much stock and in good condition.
I does have an R-title but being that it's a 15 yr old vehicle I don't see that being a huge issue.

My problem is what's it worth. I looked at prices on KBB and it come in around $5K. However on autotrader and ebay and local listings they are going for much more... Like $7K +.
I don't want to rip anyone off but I want to get as much out of it so I can buy another vehicle (maybe a 6 cylinder jeep).
What's it worth here in nowhere PA?

Aim for 7.5K or best offer. No harm in that. If you kept it up, and its running good then thats what I would do. If someone offers you under, atleast your not low balling yourself by setting the bar higher. Good luck and happy Independence day!

Somewhere below 5k is appropriate. I live in PA and bought my 99 sahara for less than 7k two years ago.

Somewhere below $5000 is correct especially if its 2.5L and Northeast Region.

I understand that KBB price is around 5 or below, but where are these people getting their prices.
I know I wouldn't really want to pay them either, but...
Here's some listing within 300 miles of me for pretty much what I'm selling (late 90's, 4banger, 100000miles+)

Less than 100 miles away...
97 4cyl, for $8999

...and there's plenty more. Do they actually sell for these prices or do they knock of $2000 right away?

Every one of those listings is from a dealer. Prices are always much much higher. I don't think they sell for those prices. I would say after some negotiating they would sell for 1500-2500 less than sticker.

First thing you have to ask yourself is what is the rock bottom price that you would accept. Once you figure that out add about 2000 and list it for that much.

Try edmunds.com for appraisals. KBB and edmunds always differ in value but you can use both to get a good idea.

Just put it for 5k and don't haggle.

That moment when you look at a really nice JK and think to yourself, "Well I SUPPOSE I could see myself trading in my TJ for one of those, but for those ugly ass door handles."

I am selling a 4 banger Jeep TJ right now with 124k on it and it is in perfect shape. No one would offer more than 5k in my area, Upstate SC, so I have decided to lift it and put 33s on it to try and make it a little more appealing to buyers. You will never ever be able to get 7500 out of a stock 4 cylinder with auto. You should be willing to accept a little less than 5k.

You'll probably get a little over half the value due to the rebuilt title...sad but true.

Rebuilt title will kill you. I have 2 r title vehicles myself. Mainly bc they were cheap.
