adding a second batter

Hello,

I have been following the forum here for a while, and you guys are great!

Now I did a search, but was unable to find my answer.

I have a 2004 TJ-X

In the engine compartment of my jeep, on the left site, directly in front of the driver, there is an extra battery tray, however the Master Cylinder is in the way so I can not use the tray for anything.

I was wondering what you other Jeepers have done with this space, and if there is a way to get a battery in there after all?

I hope i added pictures correctly

I can't imagine a battery fitting in that space, but if you've got a sawzall I'm sure you can make it work. As for me, I mounted my ARB pump there. There are a lot of after market dual battery trays out there that keep both batteries on the passenger side of the vehicle.

That's not a battery tray, it's really there for use by an ABS system. To add a second battery, if you really need it, use one of the dual battery brackets that replace the OE battery holder. Some of those require the a/c line next to the battery be unsealed, moved, and resealed to gain enough room for a second battery.

Personally, I've gotten along for the past 14 years with lots of winching, offroad lights, etc. using just the stock 117 amp alternator and a good quality single battery like the Diehard Platinum 3478-DT.

I want to get a small locking case and install in that location.
