Post advice please

I have a '05 wrangler x, with the I6 and a 6 speed tranny. Can anyone tell me which transmission I have?

And also, I'm planning on installing 4.88 with ARBs, what all do I need to install this?

you have the 6spd NSG370 manual tranny.

your gear ratios
FIRST 4.46
SECOND 2.61
THIRD 1.72
FOURTH 1.25
FIFTH 1.00
SIXTH 0.84
REVERSE 4.06

how big are your tires? with 33s i would only install 4.56 gears.

i have 4.56 gears wth the4spd auto tranny and my 4th gear is 0.69 only. itīs perfect for me and the mileage is great.

Thanks, yeah i have 33s now but planning on either 35s or 36s, so i figured i'd go ahead and make sure i have low enough gears for them.

i heard of problems with 4.88 gears in a front D30 with manual tranny.
only 2-3 tooth of the ring and pinion have contact. and the torque peaks that you have with a manual tranny (not with an auto tranny) could be too much for that.

do you have a rear D35? then 35s or 36s are too much when you want to do some real offroading.

did you try to find some used D44 or ford 8.8 axles that already have 4.56 or 4.88 or 5.13 gears and lockers?

what kit do you mean? do you have a link?

Is the problem with the axles or the rearends? I found the kit in an ad from drivetrain warehouse in a Four Wheeler mag, but I can't find it on the website.

It says it includes:

two ARB lockers
30-spline F/R axles
F/R ring & pinion W/ master overhaul kits
for $2799.99 or without axles $1899
