Question Aftermarket Bumper

Ok so a couple of months ago I bought a '05 X and I thought it was great. Turns out it was a POS. dealer told me it was immaculate and had no problems, sure if a cracked coil spring and a torqued axle isnt a problem idk what is. So i did the whole lemon law thing and long story short i got my money back and a little extra cash. So I'm once again on the hunt for a '05 X.
But thats not why im posting.

With my extra cash im thinking of buying a bumper or grill guard. I've been looking at ARB Bull Bars but i think thats a little too intense for what i plan on doing with it. Its gonna be a DD with some light off road use. Winch most likely to come later. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

The ARB bumper is only worth it if you intend of pushing cattle around.

I found my Fab-Tech look-a-like on eBay for $100. It has light tabs on the top for when I add some more lights... but if your looking for a stock type bumper, take a look at the RokMen Mercenary. Or there is a really popular Smittybuilt SRC which look really good loaded up with lights.

It really depends on the style you want. Tube, square stock, custom?

The lights on it in this pic were broke, just seeing how they would look on there. I don't think the guy that made them sells them any more though.

Fab-Tech and Gen-Right both make similar bumpers that run about $300.

Warn, $200 and change, JKS offroad, bunch of others out there too. The warn works, daughter broke a saturn in half with one when it made a sudden left turn in front of her while she was doing 40, bent it a bit but nothing a chain and a tree couldn't fix..

I'll vouch for Warn. Simple, nice, not as pricey as some of the bigger ones, and I think it looks great. I have had mine since I have had the Jeep.

I have the Rokmen. Sturdy. attractive, nice winch mount, reasonably priced. However, if I had something like the MORE high clearance I wouldn't have needed a new fender after the deer incident.

Build your own. I built mine myself out of 2"x6" box steel and added d ring tabs and a reciever hitch to the rear bumper. The cool thing is they only cost me $70 in materials for both of them and they are bulletproof plus I can say I did them myself!

another vote for the RRC (not the SRC) The difference i found is that RRC comes with D ring mounts while the SRC doesnt. They also have mounts for the foglights where mine are and above or bellow the top hoop.

sweet job. but if you cant build your own, i would go with a smaller company like atoz or rock hard. find one that you like and talk to them and they usually can add any feature you want to it, plus your supporting the little guys.

Mine is the SRC version of the bumper. It has the tabs on the hoop, and at the frame for mounting lights. It also has the D-ring mounts welded in. I don't believe that there is a difference between to SRC and the RRC, except the label.

Ones have D rings, ones dont. Perhaps the 4x4 rock shop screwed up and sent me a SRC bumper? The image on their website of the nice shinny gloss bumper is suppose to be RRC but it doesnt have dring mounts.

My bumper is not the glossy one, its the rough one.

i just ordered a set of front and rear bumpers from lod. i wasn't looking for a bumper as aggressive as some of the ones posted. i just wanted something simple. is there a right up on having to drill holes in the rear?
