Ageless Strangers new Jeep.

Hello everyone. Thought I'd start a thread to let everyone know that after about two months of membership on this forum and 1200 or so posts I finally found the Jeep for me. I'm very excited to now be an official part of the Jeep community.

And of course, what thread would be complete without pics?

In the driveway:

That's a sweet color and nice looking TJ. I like it.

You going to do anything to it? Tires, rims, lift, etc?

Congrats again AS on a sweet looking TJ! Nothing like the first few days with a new love.

If I might suggest, it's your Jeep so ignore me if you want - but here's what mine looked like the day I bought it:

See the big smile? I was very very happy that day.

But my first mods were free mods. Getting rid of stuff. Plastic smoked door rain guard things, bug deflector, chrome grill, side steps, little flare behind the front fender, bumper jugs. You get the idea.

Not right away. Savings has to rebuild... Plus I want to wheel it stock for a while to get a feel for what I might want as far as upgrades go. It already has great offroad tires so I'm ready to try it out.

Gus,
Who would ever ignore you? In your order:
1) Love them. Wish my Silverado had them on it. (It will eventually) I had them on all my trucks when I was a smoker. Now that I'm not a smoker, I like them because when it's raining and mild outside you can crack the windows so you don't fog up. This has driven me crazy in the pickup because it dosen't have them and I either had rain blowing in or the windshield was fogged. (running the defrost would burn you out. I'm talking about mild weather.)

2)Mine didn't have a bug shield, chrome grill, thankfully.

3)I thought I would take the side steps off and probably still will. But my wife has already expressed her desire for them to remain.

4) I want to take the little flare off behind the front wheel. I didn't know if that would leave holes in the tub like on the wheel flares.

5)Front bumper jugs were the first thing gone. Right after I got home with it.

I don't know. I was talking with someone about it yesterday and said I thought I'd let it name itself. We'll see.

Nice

I did that for the first time just as it got warmer this year, it was weird and I was afraid of my hard top blowing off but it was fun

i love driving doorless and topless... but it is usually just doorless.... it is a whole lot easier to take the doors off by urself than to take the hardtop off by your self... sooo doorless is fun!!!!

Somehow I feel cheated by realizing that all this time you were posting that you were Jeep-less. That you weren't one of us. That maybe you were a spy?

What's an analogy? It's like discovering after all this time that you're actually a Cylon.

No, that's not it. Because now you're all "oh, I've got a Jeep so now I fit in."

I got it: You were Al Qadea but now you say the pledge of allegiance every morning. That's it.

Well, I for one don't trust you. You are outside the circle Ageless.

Oh, and congrats on your new rig. Looks like a lot of fun.

1200 posts in just 2 months?
Now aren't you a little forum whore!

Just kid'n ya man.
Congrats on the new Jeep.
Looks really good, I like that color.
I'm sure you'll have a blast in it!

Yes. But about 1100 of those posts are in 'the last person to post in this thread wins" thread.

I agree. I will probably do that a lot. I intended to buy a hard top Jeep. The Jeep I bought was a dual top. (Win, Win) The soft top dosen't look like it's ever been on it. All of the windows were wrapped up in original wrappers and the side quarters were still in the original Chrysler box. Sadly, I am missing the door surrounds and the bolts that secure the bows to the sport bar, so I can't put the soft on until I find the pieces I'm missing. I'll probably use the soft top for most of the warm months even though I like the hard top better, just so I can put it up and down in a moments notice.
