air horn

I have an air horn that i want to put in. it is not a kit just the horn. and i have a compressor and tank. i was just curious as to where to mount it and how to run the line. i think i am goin to put my compressor in my lock box in the back and run the line under the hood by the fuse box.

I put my PA speaker for my CB on the passenger side, near the air box. I just removed one of the fan shroud bolts, and used that bolt to hold up the PA. Not sure how your air horn mount looks, but I don't see why that wouldn't work?

Here is my setup. A pair of horns from an International dump truck. Truck horns play a much lower note then the high pitched horns of a train. Which is what I was after.

^ I just went to world of wheels in chicago and there turns out to be a local vendor that sells them. It's like $180 for the 142db train horn and $200 for a set of 4 horns thats even louder. I might go with the louder ones. Idk yet???

Check Ebay for Air train horn . They have a huge selection and most the good places will have an audio clip of the actual horn. 152db go for about 150+shipping

For air horns i'd mount it pointing towards the ground, its louder that way as the frequencies bounce off the ground in all directions and in some cases shake it too.

A friend of mine had his blow off valve mounted that way too, the horn of it was pointing towards the ground, easily said he scared people next to him while before he had the horn mounted towards him and he could barely hear it.

Actually if you see the pics of the underside they are running 2 and sometimes 3 sets of train horns

I agree their sets are extremely high priced.

Am I the only one who carries a concealed wapon just in the event one of these a$$holes blows their horn in my hear???

These things are even more annoying than sittin three cars in front of some 1980 caprice on 24's that shakes your vehicle every time his subs rattle his trunk.

Ever think they might be carrying a non concealed weapon just in case somebody with a hidden handgun wants to pull it on them?
That's is the exact train of thought the anti gun people want to get out there. I am all for CC guns but the thoughts just like that are why there is always a fight to allow people to carry them.
In either case its not worth taking a life (theirs or yours) or going to jail over a horn blowing.

There have been many times where people are too busy talking on the phone and they just drive in my lane without looking. That deserves a loud "WWWWAAAKKKEEEE UUUPPPPPP" type of blast. How about those people that drive in the middle of the 2 lanes for 20 miles? How about people that cut you off?

There are tons of situations that i can think of to use those babies.

X2
My most common time to use it is when you get the people who feel that because the left turn arrow just turned red (3 cars ago) they can still go through the intersection. When my light turns green I am off the clutch and on the move and it really annoys me to stop again because some jack off doesn't think the traffic laws apply to them.
My horn sounds just like a big rig so its fun to see the look on peoples face when they think the ran a light on front of a on coming semi
One of them actually hit a sign on the median while frantically looking for the semi and talking on the phone at the same time.
I laughed the whole way home.
