I've had mine in 3 different places in my Jeep. First place was on my Bestop Instatrunk (selling that), second place was under my back seat. It was held in place with velcro. The last place I put it, and it should stay there a while, is under the driver's seat. I copied another person on here and the way it bolts down and then the seat on top it makes it hard for people to steal it.

I'd stick with under the back seat. you can bolt it there too. I've had a ton of water under my driver's seat, so I'd stay away from that location.

You still have the back seat? Wow, I thought everbody took them out. Anyways I think it all depends on how likely there is to be water in the jeep. For example, if you reguarly sink it into big mud bogs or water of any sort you may want to mount the amp higher up where the water won't reach it. Same as if you get caught in a severe down pour with the top down. These would be the things I would be trying to figure out before I would mount an amp.

I have mine under the drivers seat (the prev. owner put it there) It is prob the most secure from theft, but I have had problems with water there, i.e. top down in a thunderstorm.

I really dont go off road but would love to.. I'm a chicken i guess cause I have to pay to fix it if I break it. I have had it rained in before, in Mississippi pop up storms happen alot. So under the back seat is like the only place I could think it will not get rained on and no one can see it.

If water is what you are concerned about, buy yourself a Bestop Instatrunk. A. it can help keep your belonging secure, B. you can mount things on it.

My girlfriend sometimes wanted to leave her purse in my Jeep so that's why I bought it. Then I purchased my amp and installed it to the instatrunk.

I'm going with marine grade stuff when I upgrade all my stereo stuff that way I shouldn't have to worry about water where ever it is. I figured a bazooka bas tube with built in amp and a smaller amp for the other speakers should be enough for me. How big is the amp your trying to install? have you thought about putting it in your center consol?

Depending on how big your amp is I've seen a mount before that uses the empty space above your pedals an below your steering column

I actually don't have a separate amp. I've got a self-powered Infinity Basslink, behind the rear seat inside of a stock instatrunk. It definitely gets enough air. I have my instatrunk lifted about 2 inches to accommodate the basslink, and that puts straight air passage directly under the back seat. I've never had an issue with it overheating. Take a look at my Jeep profile to check it out.

This is where I mounted mine, works well! Completely hidden, no chance of getting wet.
