Hey new friends.
I have another question from a new Sahara owner. I bought my jeep from a guy who's farther past, and it was his father's jeep. Now the father didn't own the jeep a long time, and I don't know who he bought it off of. Lengthy story, but i felt needed to give you info.
Here's the question. There is a box mounted under the driver's seat. I have no idea what the hell it is. It looks like a control module of some sort. It's connected to a power converter of some sort. The control module has electrical connections, a serial port, and looks like maybe a incredibly small vacuum or could be another electrical connection. There is some sort of piece mounted on the inside of my windshield. I took it to a local jeep repair and none of the mechanics knew what it was. They said it might be a lojack system for anti-theft. I haven't taken it to any lojack mechanics yet to see it that is what it is. I will try to take pictures this weekend to give you more visual of what I'm talking about. But have any of you seen a setup like this? There is a viper alarm installed. Could it be part of that? Most of the connections to the box are not connected and just hanging there. Any ideas?
Sorry for the length.
I've never had a viper so I don't know. But I would assume if it was part of the Viper system, all connections would be connected. It's a brass casing with no markings on top of it. I was eventually just going to pull it to see if there's markings underneath. I will take pictures tomorrow. Thanks for all who replied.
yeah i ahve lo jack and have yet to find where teh hell the box is haha, i can assure you its not lo jack, they hide those things in new places for EVERY single car/truck and when the mechanic comes it takes liek 20 minutes for them to find it with this little gadget thingy with a detector, so if it probabaly either something witht eh sound/radio or the viper alarm
