another proud TJ moment

Do I have a problem if getting pulled out of a mud hole before noon puts a smile on my face?

Had my buddy come pull me out with his f-350 V-10. I love friends with big trucks I have so many I owe you lunch for pulling me out friends....

Hole was a little deeper than I thought....

hehe I'm dreading the first time I do that. Guess I better start saving up for a winch.

Personally knowing what I know, I'd have gone around that, cause my recovery equipment is a 89 S10 Blazer and 300 feet of log chain 25' each section......Oh............. and a shovel

I went around it the first time but I said screw it the 2nd time, I need to challenge it. Well it bitch slapped me I didn't mind I have large trucks on speed dial lol. I've got a shovel to but there's no shoveling out of that.

Yea it's in Milton, if you take that left by the diner towards bear trap creek there's a small turn in with a large hill (i'm sure you know what i'm talking about Mitch). It's not off route 7 though it's on that left turn off. Be careful Buddy it got deep back there send me a Pm and I will give you my # so you can call if you get stuck I work 1/2 mile from there it would be a pleasure to come give a hand.

Ps. for size reference the back tires is a 31" sunk down in there, the suction it created made it a bitch to get out, but thats's part of the fun

Yea there was no shoveling out of that alright. last week I went behind my house in the field to see where the power line was broke at, well......I went around one of those high tension towers and the ground went out form under me, I mean it was nice grassy area at first, then it was quicksand about 2 feet deep, that's when I found out I have open diffs, and that I really really need a winch.
Mud cancels everything, you got 31's I got 235's you probably got a 4.0 too, I have a 2.5 so I get stuck slower than you do

thats definitely a hole i would have plowed rite in to!! the ones that really get me are when they look nice and shallow and start out nice and shallow then all of the sudden they swallow up my 35's and the mud comes flying in through the window and hits you in the face!! i got a few big trucks on speed dial as well, a nice dodge 3500 diesel dually can get me outa almost anything!

Half the fun for me is plowing through a big hole and getting stuck, the other half is getting a tow out. The only problem is, if I'm to far in it's hard to get the V-10 back there cause it's so heavy it just sinks. Lucky for me There was enough solid ground behind the hole, to easily get a tow out.

I have been stuck in that hole 4 times now, one of these day's I will get it! That's the shallowest it's been in weeks that's why I attempted it again I thought I could finally get through it but nope not yet Last time it was flowing in the cab from the doors and back tailgate, took out the rug after that one so now i'm determined to get that bastard.

There are way bigger mud holes out there. I would carry more tow straps than only one 30' with me.

So I take it you are one of those (like me) that can fit a square peg into a round hole

Or when the bottom is so soft you all of a sudden find out that solid mud is flying up through the now dark water

Sometimes big tires and a high lift is not enough.
I would say itīs time for some portal axles..

why do I need more than a 30' strap, never needed more than that before and have been stuck a hell of a lot worse than that. What would I use multiple straps for? what would you suggest?

longer than a 30 footer for those times when your "tow truck" needs to stay farther than 30 feet away.

My two 30' and two 20' straps were not long enough some times. Now I have an additional 100' 1" thick rope that a friend who works in a saimaker shop gave me for free.

Yes I put them together with some soft shackles.

I also have a 165' winch line extension for my 125' synthetic winch line.

Sweet i got your #, we'll deff. go out there. I have a couple buddys that have trash rigs they beat, 04 chevy blazer, and a 98 Explorer, they love to go out there and romp around. I'll give you a buzz next time we go out there. We like to go at night because we have good lights, and now you do too. How do you like them?

I have found it best to keep at least two wheels on the front or two tires in the rear on solid ground, I don't have to start Beth Blazer that way

Hey "adkjoe" cant tell for sure but your windshield lights are KC's,right? Im wanting these but Quadratec has me a little confused, do i want the "driving set" or the "fog set" ? Those are the 2 types Quadratec has listed under the KC lights

Those are the long range driving KC's I have on there. there 130 watt a piece. The fog lights are just a bubble of light, if you want high power lighting for offroad get the long range driving lights. I think they come in 100 watt as well but get the 130's there so bright and well worth it.

What engine is under that hood adkjoe? I got a 2.5 with a auto trans, and I'm OK as long as I keep either the front two or back two tires on solid ground, I've gone through deeper than that under neath hard pack dirt and not lost traction up here in Va
