You know Dave IMO the only full width bumper I like is the Smitty SRC. I suppose its because it rises to protect the fenders but isn't too bulky. I just don't like the gap between the fender and the bumper.
I like the Merc the way it is.
sorry Dave, off topic, but with the Mercenary GT bumper, is the radiator hoop and support to stinger the only thing different between that and the regular Mercenary? just a Mercenary bumper with a welded on rad. hoop?
* oh, and i would not personally be interested in a wider version. the ARB bullbar crowd would be the people to buy a wider bumper, but those people buy ARB bullbars, so other than just offering as a custom option at a premium price (which usually still is not economical for you) i wouldn't bother. of the other companies that make the wider bumpers, i hardly ever see anyone actually buying them over the shorter version.

We are planning a day of wheelin in the Logandale Trail system. We'll do Rockbottom/Shitter trail and the Scenic loop. Plan on meeting at the concrete pad in Logandale at 8am on May 8th leaving for the trails 9am. BBQ will be held... later that day 3pm. Club members free, non club members $12.
Some of us will be camping the entire weekend arriving the 7th around 7pm leaving Logandale on the 9th. Tent camping and RV access at the concrete pad. Well most likely run some unofficial night and sunday runs.
If I can get my jeep out here this coming Monday I'll be there. I go home every other weekend so I will need to make arrangements to get it out here. I don't have a trailer yet, so I would have to drive it. 450mi in the wind can really suck.
Is it better to stay smaller in the front? other than looks, or is the wide bumper more prtective? I'm still stock up front with rubi caps.
My rig is no longer a DD. I still have the stock bumper on there because I have the lights on the front. However I have cracked both lights and bent the shiat out of the ends of the front bumper. My fenders are short lived for this world so I don't want anything sticking out past the frame to get in the way of my approach angle. For others this might not be the case and a good bumper can save your front fenders from damage. For me it's just in the way.

i dont know i think i would look into a 54" bumper cause it would kinda keep the stock look but it would still give it an aggressive feel but i aint doin any rock crawlin so i dont need to go short so i see everyone elses side so for us that want a more agressive look i think we would look into it and you know if you eveer wanna have someone try it out for ya let me know cause i wouldnt mind haha
