any issues NV3550?

I am picking up a NV3550 out of an 02 TJ with 30,000 miles on it. Any warnings about these stick shift trannies? I own a YJ and am replacing my AX-15 with it. Just looking for feedback on this tranny---Thanks

I have an 00 tj that comes with the 3550.. so far no problems, shifts great.

However i hate the 3rd gear ratio. Its way too low. To shift from 3rd to 2nd you gotta rev the engine pretty good.

It's loud. Other than that seems to be a very tough tranny.

Hell, mine sounds like a diesel (just not quite as loud). I've repeatedly had other AX15 jeepers ask me what's wrong with my tranny.

Yep! I had a AX15 before and it was quiet. Got the 3550 and had a mechanic buddy (Jeep dealer) look at it and found nothing wrong but threw a brand new 3550 in there just for good measure and soon as we cranked it made the exact same noise! No worries, doesn't bother me if nothing's wrong.
