Ever heard of saving up? My rig is still a baby because I'm saving up for all the bad ass parts. It's not all about getting it built up as fast as you can.

Unfortunately saving for things seems to be a bit of a lost art.

^^Nailed it. You also get what you pay for -- I can argue every aspect of why a US produced aftermarket Jeep part is superior to its counterfeit Chinese replica.

Oh I understand that concept completely but $50 for 8 holes seems a bit excessive....

If you're doing anything really serious I would suggest something else, I use them for protection from sliding into trees, etc.

They're dirty, but there you go.

I'm only an ass to idiots, not to hardworking vendors who support us. I'm all for constructive criticism, but there is a point where it get's excessive. There's a reason Nalin hasn't replied to you.

I'm sure if it was Savvy then you wouldn't mind paying $50 for countersunk holes. I will agree $50 is excessive, but I just learn to keep my mouth shut.

I wouldn't pay that much it from anyone, but FWIW the holes come included with the base price of the Savvy rockers as does all the hardware, its not an option...... I am not picking on anyone in particular but I have seen many vendors offer a crazy low price to lure you in and then pound you for "extras" like holes and hardware that should be included anyway that ends up driving the price way up.

I know that, I plan to pick up the Savvy rockers myself here soon, I was just playing devils advocate.

Though for a light to moderate wheeler, they are fairly reasonable at $277 (assuming you don't want countersunk holes). I'll recommend them over shittybilt any day.

Excellent point - It's a good thing you are given the option to opt out if $50 seems excessive to you.

It's an $85 6-flute carbide USA bit, being used in a $4000 manual mill, 4 setup configurations in the mill per set(labor), and each hole checked with a $190 countersink depth gauge. Countersinking is the most time consuming aspect of production -- what is the value of all of this in addition to a skilled machinist doing a one-off job?

Would $1/hole be more appealing if I could get a few neighborhood kids do it with a hand drill and HHS bit?

I'm intrigued by this -- can you explain?
None of the vendors manufacture hardware...why should you have to pay a marked up price (base+shipping to vendor+mark up) when you can get it direct, buy local, or use something on hand for next to nothing?

If someone has (10) 5/16" bolts in their garage...they can put a set of cnc laser cut and cnc bent rockers(A36 plate USA steel) on their Jeep for $150. How is that luring someone in an pounding them with extras? I mean -- for $175 you could have a picture of your face cut in the side of them!

All of the above is the cost of doing doing business is all. If you to charge the customer for every carbide bit you use then something is wrong. Does it take your machinist an hour to set up the mill?

How do your rockers attach to the body? Through bolted or via nutserts?

All I know is if the guy wants to spend his money on a part not built in the USA then he can go do it, it is called competition. ..

How much sense does it make to wait and save your money to spend more for the same part?

If those American vendors want American customers, then they should get more competitive with their prices...

If anyone else has a review on these rockers post please, this consumer is interested in them as well. ..

Correct. It takes a little over an hour to countersink 10 holes between fixture mounting 4 times, actually countersinking on a manual mill, verifying depth to ensure that they will sit perfectly flush, and wire wheeling the front/back to ensure no fine burrs exist.

No nutserts. Drill a 5/16" hole in your tub and use regular bolts. The hardware available on my website is 316 Stainless steel with nylock nuts. I can confidently say that no Chinese rockers come with anything over 18-8 stainless(if that!).

So in the areas that you can't through bolt? How about from underneath the tub? Through bolted into the floor also?

Here lies the root of our discussion! Let me tell you a short personal story about competition with China... A Chinese manufacturer purchased one of my items, copied it exactly within .001", and has been selling it for 2 years for less than my cost to produce it. I lose roughly 400 sales/yr because of this. The funny thing is that our patent, trademark, and copyright laws mean nothing to China. I have almost $2k invested in protecting my intellectual property, but our laws have no jurisdiction internationally. This is happening to almost every industry.

American products cost more to produce due to the suffocating amount of regulations. If you're selling lemonade and it costs you $1 to make a pitcher, how do you compete with your neighbor if it only costs him $.25 to make the same thing? His might be more bitter, not have any ice, or perhaps he stole your grandma's secret recipe. If it's hot outside -- people will go for the $.25 lemonade every time because today's market values quantity over quality.

The selling point that I market is quality. I have a solid track record to prove it because I don't make compromises in my work. I'm not going to lower my standards - so up yours.

Why would I place a bolt over a body cavity? 5 bolts and 2 body mounts has been an industry standard for over a decade.

Just so everyone knows. 5 minutes ago i purchased pocket fender flares for 178 dollars from china they are made of abs plastic which is the same plastic that my flares are now. I saved about 300 dollars doing this. I do not wheel hard and living in long island, I do not think I will be wheeling hard for a long time. I understand where every point is coming from on this thread but PetesJeeps is right in the end it comes down to what your budget is and the price of the product. Sorry man China won this battle hahaha BUT THEY HAVE NOT WON THE WAR
