Looking for Jeeps with 35s and about 3 to 5 inches of lift. I have Metalcloaks already and have 33" tires, 2.5" lift and a 1" BL.
I plan to run 35s by the fall and im having a hard time deciding between Currie's 3" HD springs and 4" HD springs. Im keeping the BL because of my tummy tuck. I just dont want it to look "goofy" or too tall for 35s with 4" coils, and dont want to rub the tub in the rear with 3" coils
That's what i was thinking too, a couple guys running metalcloaks were saying it may be too much space up front, but that just means more up-travel unk:
I think it sits pretty nice right now, so figure about another inch of space when i move up to 35s and 4" coils
The 35's 4" SL/1.25"BL combination looks pretty good with normal tube fenders IMO, I think you'll be fine with 4" if the rest of your setup can handle it (SYE+CVDS, adjustable arms, etc)
I agree, i think it'll look pretty good. I already have a SYE, adj. arms etc. I just started my 8.8 build, so im pretty much set for 35s after i upgrade my D30 with shafts, and u-joints. So im just focusing on the proper ride height.
Can he not push the axle back a little? I know Metalcloak recommends trimming behind the tire for 35s but it sounds like his axle has come forward with the lift. Fixed control arms? Some adjustables should fix that right up.
I think he had fixed control arms. Believe he just ordered a 5.5 Teraflex long arm kit instead
he didnt seem to like the idea of a body lift
I dont plan on going with a LCOG build, it's not my "thing" my main priority is being able to make it through rough trails without scrapping my entire Jeep across the every little object.
One guy who has inspired my build a little since discovering his build thread was "aTX427" here's his review on MC 3.5" "Game Changer" suspension. http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/metalcloak-3-5-lift-first-impressions-236170.html
Im really considering MC's 3.5" lift as well, but then again i have plenty of time to decide...as im still building my 8.8
