Anyone have the Olympic Dave's Cargo Rack?

I found someone nearby who is selling an Olympic Dave's cargo rook rack. He want's $200 for it. He said that it has a some surface rust on the nuts and bolts. I've read some negative comments by owners of the rack and rust. Anyone have any experience with this rack? Thanks for any information!

I don't have any experience with it, but from looking at it online, I'd be all over it at 200. A wire brush, a little elbow grease, and black Rustoleum, and you're good to go

I haven't found anything that won't rust. I have a Garvin Industries expedition rack which is like $900 and it has some slight rust.

I just put on a Reese tow hitch about a week ago and it already has powder coating coming off and rust.....A freaking week.

You're probably right, but I don't any rust on the body of the Jeep. I'm going to look at the rack and see what kind of condition it's in. Maybe I just need to get new nuts ant bolts. Thanks.

I was looking at the installation instructions for the rack earlier and it recommends painting the bolts.

That would probably be a good idea. I wonder if stainless steel bolts would work better? Thanks!

I'm in Arizona. He said he bought it in 2005 for his 2004 Wrangler and that it's spent most of its time in the garage. Thanks for the feedback on your experience with the rack. Have a good one!
