Anyone removed the center console? &%$##%!!

Did anyone remove or have instructions on how to remove the center console?

I bought my jeep with 3" body lift, there is something wrong with console, it moves a little while shifting gears, I want to remove it, and put it back tightly.

I unscrewed a screw in cup holder, and 2 on pss sides, there is still something holding it........

Especially pictures or photos will help a lot.

Thank you very much

Exactly where i am holding wobbles when shifting gears, I think is is because of the 3" body lift mod. Someone messed with it, and did not put it back together right.

I just want to take the whole thing out, and put it back tightly.....

lift up the rubber boot under your hand in that pic and there should be one more bolt in there.

The previous owner may have messed with the linkage to get things to work with that 3" BL . . . you might want to hold off on messing with it until you get rid of the 3" BL if it's shifting okay now.

A little tip

IslandMonkey - I have a '97 Sahara as well and I took mine out to straighten the stickshift angle. There are 2 in the aft section of the passenger side, 2 inside the "glove" compartment (with the flip up lid), 1 in the forward cupholder and the last inside the black rubber boot (around the stickshift).
If you carefully prise up on the lowest part of the rubber boot, it slips right out. When that's done, look on the passenger-side of the rectangular opening and you'll see the last screw holding the console in.
You'll see the bottom of the boot has a plastic "stiffener" that comes up with it.
Is your shifting ok? Is the 4x stick secured? It's easy to check once the boot is withdrawn.
good luck,
Mark
