Anyone running 31's on LJ without lift?

If so I would like to see photos. I've measured several times now and can't see why they won't fit. This one does not do much off road yet. I'd like to do a 2 inch spacer lift but its out of my budget now. Thanks
Tyler

Here's mine with 31's and no lift. They fit with no problem.

I have 31's and no lift on my factory wheels without issue. Kelly Safari TSR was the tire I went with. I had to air down the spare to get it mounted, but only to 25 pounds from 28.

Here's some old pics. 06 LJ, no lift, 31x 10.5 BFG A/T. Stock rims. Fit great, no rubbing. I think I had to put a few washers on the spare tire studs so I wouldn't have to shave the rubber nubs down.

Stock 00 TJ Sport, 31" SilentArmor -- love that tire, can't wait to try it on the snow.

Previous owner only bought 4, so my spare is the stock 30". What's this I hear about fitting 31" on the spare carrier?

The 10.5 width, (wider than the stock 9.5 width), when on the original 5.25 back spaced rims, makes a little more contact with the "snubbers" on the tail gate than the 9.5. Making it tough to tighten all the way down. I put 2-3 washers on the wheel mounting surface studs, others have shaved about 1/4" off of the snubbers. It's not a huge problem if you're ready for a little tweaking. You DO want it to end up tight to the snubbers, as vibration of the wheel/tire hanging too far out, will eventually damage the tail gate. A greatly offset wheel will require LONGER snubbers, or added spacers.
I didn't run into any HEIGHT issues until I went to 33's. But was able to make it work with a little more tweaking. (the bracket, not me)

i had no problem hanging my 31 x 10.5s on the stock rear tire holder, it does make for closing the tailgate slightly more work, gotta lift it slightly so it closes well, 31 x 10.5s weigh a bit more than 30 x 9.5

Thanks for all the replies guys. I have some very good ideas in waiting but right now the almighty dollar is stretched to the max.

Here is what we have now it's basically bone stock so hopefully it will look a little different in years to come.
