Yes, 35" tires... my webpage below shows nothing but 15x8 wheels with 35" tires on them. For offroading, 15x8 works better for tire sizes up to 35".

I have 33x12.5s on 15x8s now. previously had 15x10. No noticeable difference. great thing about 15s is they are cheaper and show more rubber.

33s look awesome, the more i look at all these pics the more i want some bigger tires, however i dont think my 2.5 could handle anything bigger than 31s

My 4.0 slugs up hills and on highway on ramps for sure with stock gearing. I think it's well worth it for the look and control off road, but if you have a 4 banger you would need to regear for sure if you want any type of power.

I learned with my other car, while its always fun to go bigger, never go so big that it will seriously detract from the actual driveability of your vehicle. Its a give/take for sure

I run 35x12.5's and 37x12.5's on a 15x10, Works well as long as you get the backspacing right.

agreed, sticking with some 31s and adding a small lift will probably be best. meaner look & only affects gas mileage a little plus no regearing

I'm guessing RubiCobra doesn't care about gas mileage too much with those 37s! damn. I was looking into a Jeep with 37s but passed. What do those ride like?

Most tjs run a 15in rim
as you can see above

You should stick to the stock or
8 inch wide if you stay around 33s
at most

I'm running 4.56 gears and with the 35's, she still has plenty of grunt to use 6th gear... the 37's are fine until you try and drive on the highway, she struggles a bit turning those at 65 mph.

Like they said, if you're using stock gears I would stay with 32's or smaller.

When you say a "small lift", do you mean something like one of those Black Diamond 'add a leaf' 2 inch kits? Would that work or would you suggest going all in and replacing all the springs?

.... and I can see your a TJ guy, so go ahead and just skip over suggesting switching to coil spring suspension! :P

you can get away with 33x10.5s though. my '97 was a 2.5l and i was afraid of the same thing as you. i started at 31x11.5s, then went to 33x10.50 km2's. you're at 4.10s/11s already, so thats a plus, i didn't notice any difference b/w the swap. there is a good difference b/w the weights with the 2.5" tread width difference if i remember correctly. plus you're fuel economy is going to improve a little.

here are my 33x10.5s on 15's
