Anyone running FT 3" lift?

Was wondering if anyone was running the Full Traction 3" lift with 33" tires? Would I have to run bl also? Please post pics and comments.. Trying to make up my mind, which usually takes help

I am running the Full Traction 3" lift and a 1" body lift. I would say you would not have to run the body lift if you were only going to do mild off roading. But if you want that little extra flex, I would say go with the body lift.

I have the same setup as Taz; 3+1. Just installed the FT about 2 weeks ago. Great lift. Recommend you get from Northridge for dependability sake, better price, and free shipping. And I'm running 33's. I have approx 8" of fender clearance.

in english i think it says "Definetly DO NOT order from qtec..."

My problems were mainly with FT directly. Qtec is a middle man that told me what FT told them. What qtec did that was wrong was lie to me that the lift kit will ship within 5 days and then when i was getting my money back no one had any idea whats up since i talked to random people each time i called qtec so no one had any idea what the person before told me.

i did call FT directly and their customer service was disappointing and quite rude.

Dude, come on, we've been over this. I'm quite certian FT has crappy CS. But I just had to deal with Daystar directly and didn't come away too impressed either. But I understand b/c I was dealing with the mfg. I'm sure most would agree that a mfg/wholesaler should go out of their way to satisfy retail customers. But bottom line is, that's not what they do. They sell to retailers who specialize in customer service (or they claim to, ie. QT, 4WP, etc.). I was fortunate enough to select a retailer who is MUCH more dependable and straightforward than QT and I had my FT lift in 4 days. So regardless of how lousy FT may be at CS, I still got my lift sooner than promised when dealing directly with a reputable retailer - Northridge! And that has nothing to do with the mfg, and everything to do with the retailer. And BTW, the lift is awsome! I think we all learned something from your misadventure 88. QT probably should have reconsidered selling something they had no idea when the ETA was and should have disclosed that issue before taking your money. That being said, I called Northridge right when you ordered yours and he was also out; but he just ordered over 100. He told me up front there was no ETA available and could make no promises. I waited til he got them in and, viola, I had my lift as promised. Not bustin your chops 88, I just think all factors need to be considered in your situation and I'm glad you chose to share with us at WF as you are definitely not alone in your probs w/QT.

A friend of mine ran the FT 3inch kit, his coils sagged within a year, and he later found out its a common problem and FT wouldnt warrenty them, then about 4 months later his rear trac bar drop ripped off the axle. This is a guy who doesnt wheel too hard and takes care of his jeep.

Sounds like I'm screwed then. Better just sell the rig now.

1: All springs, coils included, are going to sag. Some more or faster than others depending on the spring rate.

2: The rear track bar relocation bracket that Full-Traction uses is the same design as RE, RK, and every other company that offers one. And its not a drop bracket, but a riser. And the only way I see it ripping off is if it was installed improperly or got lose and the bolts ripped through it.

my RE coils after 2 years of hard wheeling havn't sagged at all. maybe one day but not yet

It has more to do then just spring rates, The process and material used by a manufacturer is the major factor. theres a reason why companies like Deaver have the reputation that they do.
as far as his rear track bar, i was wrong it was the whole thing that ripped off. upper control arm and all. (cant blame that on FT)

he ordered the RK long arm kit to fix his problem hahaha

yea that looked like it might've sucked a little good to know it wasn't the full traction kit though. Been doing alot of checking and reading and will probably go with the 4" ft lift for the money it's worth it compared to 3" and a bl in my opinion.

Yea 88, I actually called two places today cause I was concerned about the problems you had and both places had it in stock ready to go.

You probably already know this but be prepared for the probability of needing a SYE/DS with that 4". Thats why I went 3+1. It's one of those things where I still got pretty bad angles with the 3" and HAD to drop my tcase/skid. You may not; as some on here claim a 4" with no vibes or DL probs. You may get lucky. However, if SYE/DS is in your budget, then go 4" for sure. B/c looks like I'm gonna have to do it sooner than later with just the 3".

Well to be honest, my thinking was that since the 4" kit came with the tc lowering kit as does the 3" kit i'd be able to run it for a while without any trouble or bad vibrations. That way I could spend all my dough on new wheels and tires. I'd like to at least get it looking the way I want first cause I don't get to drive it that much and most of the time I do is around town. Also wouldn't mind breaking an axle with the larger tires so I would be able to swap in a 44 without the wife flipping out. I can hear her now "YOU DON'T NEED A NEW AXLE, YOU GOT AN AXLE WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE AXLE YOU GOT? NAG, NAG, NAG."

That's pretty much my theme song these days. I hear it from everybody. "what do you mean new tires, you just got new tires last year...what do you need those lights for?...what do you mean a new lift, you just got a lift last year"...etc, etc.

It is the never ending money pit. And that is why we love them so.. I am in line to get the SYE and driveshaft in the next few months as well. Or I might just throw it on the old credit card and go from there.

Yeah, the MC crossed my mind too but it's already screaming uncle (and the wife) after the lift and new wheels/tires I got yesterday. I'm working on it though..."But honey, the SYE/DS will help us get much better gas mileage".
