Anyone use this top cover while driving...

I need a good rain repellant cover. Currently I'm just taking my hard top off and using a tarp with strong magnets in the 4 corners which has worked ok even with some rain, but I can't drive with the tarp on. If I get this top can I drive on local back roads at least. It wouldn't be a permant soft top. Just used in those times when it rains and I have the top off. Just wondering if anyone has this top.

TIA,
evs

Just by looking at that picture, I would say no. It is attached with elastic straps to the tail lights and it appears the mirrors as well. It looks like it would become a drag chute at best if it stayed on at all. As Greene91 said "give a little more info on the top"

I can't guess as to what brand, but I'm assuming this is an "Emergency Top" by someone like Pavement Ends or Rampage perhaps?

If that's the case, most emergency tops are said to be okay for short-term use not exceeding 45mph...so to answer your question. If this is one of those emergency tops and your drive is short and doesn't involve speeds greater than 45mph, it *should* be okay.

Now if this is simply a rain cover...it probably won't work at all. As soon as you reach about 30 mph, it'll prolly catch a burst of air and rip itself off (taking whatever the straps are attached to with it possibly).

Sorry, Here is the link and yes it is pavements emergency top. I like how it doesn't cover the windows hopefully allowing short term driving if I got caught out and needed to make it home or back to base camp in the rain. I was worried it would blow off when driving. It's hard to tell how it sits over the front of the window and if the wind could blow it up over the lip either driving or just sitting parked. It looks pretty tight in the pic.

The thing is, with no doors on, you are still gonna get drenched in the rain, especially if you have larger tires on aftermarket wheels, unless you have really big flares covering them, and still, if it's raining hard enough for you to feel like you need the emergency top, then it's coming in the doors and rear window... JMO, but I'm not sure it's worth it. A safari top will offer you almost as much protection, and you won't have to worry about speed.
