Anyone with a TJ run 16" wheels.

Sup, everyone. I got a 06 LJ. Putting on the 4.25 Zone combo lift, and installing bigger tires. I was going to get 15" black MT Classic II's, with some 33x10.5 BFG All terrains. But........I was told there is a national back order, with no estimate of delivery date. So, I was thinking of getting some 285/75/r16's with 16" rims.

I run 16" wheels. Sorry but this is the only pic I could find. Look at the spare tire. Also, the tires are 35"

Rubicons come stock with 16" wheels but few others choose 16" because there is a smaller selection of 16" tires and wheels and they are usually more expensive too. I'd stick with 15" and either wait or switch to something like BFG's Mud Terrain KM2 which looks better or Goodyear's MT/R which is stronger, performs offroad better, and also looks better.

Have you considered getting 35's with that lift? There's a guy on here (talkisjeep) with an LJ that is getting ready to run 35's with that same lift.

I switched to 16" on my TJ and wished I hadn't. As Jerry mentioned, tires are deffinitely more $'s in the 16" size than in 15's. You are forced to use P-metrics in 16" rims.

It seems there is more choices for the metric size than the standard 33x10.5

I run 255x85x16 tires on my 99 TJ. They are slightly taller and skinnier than 33x10.5x15 tires.

I run 16" Racing Heart wheels with 265/75/16 (32") BFG AT.

Many of the newer vehicles run atleast 16" wheels to clear larger calipers so I am finding that tyres for 16" wheels are becoming more popular and cheaper. I'd still prefer 15" wheels though for the reasons of more sidewall and more tyre flex.
