Anyone with OR Fab Rotopax Carrier?

Yes, they do manufacture the Rotopax Tire carrier for the TJ. I just got off of the phone with Off Road Fabrication. Part #85211 for Wrinkle Black and 85211BB for Bike Black. The problem seems to be that the distributors don't have it listed yet. AND this thing isn't cheap. It runs about $200-250 more than the Jerry Can version, but it does come with two 3gal Paks.

I say we get up a bulk order and bring it to one of the giant shops like 4 Wheel Parts for a price break. Anyone?

I like the Rotopax design but I have a real hard time with their $85 price for some blown plastic that holds 3 gallons of gasoline. Cool designs have a right to charge a little more but $85 for a single blown plastic 3 gallon tank?

Whoa! I guess that explains why the Rotopax TJ carrier is almost 250 bucks more than the other versions. It includes two 3gal cans but dang. I've never even looked at the Rotopax pricing, just liked the way it streamlines most carriers while giving you the option to tote extra fuel and water.

Forgot to mention that I'm working with Brian at Northridge4x4.com to get good pricing for those that have been waiting for this carrier.

Not to mention that it appears OR-Fab significantly changed the design for the Rotopax carrier version. Buried in the fine print they describe how it bolts to the factory hinges, not to the internal rollbar-mounted brackets used by the other ORF carriers. Sounds like it could be a cheaper/less robust design at first view. I hope not.

I saw that. When I spoke with OR-Fab the guy told me that it "closely resembles" the JK version. I asked for some design specs and such but he wasn't able to provide with much, other than the website. I'm going to call back to investigate. Maybe, just maybe it's the same trustworthy mounting system with an incorrectly labeled description from the JK system (like a copy and paste), OR it's redesigned and better.

Just pulled this off the OR Fab site.

"Its unique design incorporates a reinforced inner fender brace that keeps the carrier from rattling on the highway and allows it to be installed onto the factory tailgate hinges."

So it sounds like it still has an inner brace. Not sure where it'll mount though. I might need to get one if it still mounts securely. Let us know what you find out

Yup, looks like it's a new version that is braced with the factory hinges. I'm curious to see how strong it is. And why the heck is it 200 more than even the JK Rotopax version if it uses the same style mounting system?

Count me in if you find a discount, I would love 2 - 2 gallon gas packs, but agreed 2 packs and brackets $225 to carry 4 gallons of gas is a bit steep.
