RIPP Supercharger for 2005-2006 JEEP Wrangler TJ

These guys are reliable and lots of people have them on this forum. Don't know what year your jeep but they only make kits for 2005 and up. I don't know why they don't have the whole line of TJ years but maybe you can still put it on pre 2005.

Kits we currently support:

May want to call or email Ripp and see if that year is acceptable or if they need to be changed in anyway.

RIPP 4.0L I6 System

We fully support the 2005 and 2006 TJ/LJ with our complete system. Our hardware fits all TJ/LJ models back to 2000.5-2004 BUT, we do not offer tuning (fueling and timing) control due to the type of PCM used in the earlier TJ's. You would need to use a product like a UniChip or other "piggy back" ECU and consult a professional tuner.

Hello Downunder- I have one of the Avenger/Magnuson superchargers on my 2003 4.0L and have been very pleased with it. As the Ripp rep has said-the setup will require some tuning to get it running right. The pre-2005 Jeep has no ECU tuner support available from any manufacturer that I am aware of. As such, a piggyback system that uses the stock ECU is necessary.
If you decide to go with Avenger (which I am very happy with personally), you need to contact Mr. Jack Schuler thru their website. I will try to find a phone number if you desire when I get home. Their setup will only come at a low boost range and to really get it running with some steam requires some changes. If you desire, I would recommend several things to really boost the performance:

Get a higher boost pulley from Pulley Boys-around 8-10 psi boost
Bigger injectors-33-35lb Ford Racing work nicely
Split Second Programmable MAP Sensor
Split Second Fuel Enricher
Good Wideband gauge (I like Autometer)
A good Scan tool that gives live data on fuel trims
Some good time to spend tuning your MAP sensor fuel map

I run mine at 1mi altitude, being in Perth you may need to drop the high end boost a little, depending on the quality of your premium gasoline. I have a nice map figured out for my setup and would be willing to share some information in getting one to work for you.

Oh-and since you are in Perth---------
Could you get me a good deal on a seminar with Swim Smooth @Challenge Stadium with Paul Newsome/ Adam Young? I'm working hard to learn how to swim and hope to become a strong open water triathlete!!!

G'day mate

a PD blower like the avenger will be way better than a centri blower like the rip. Centri blowers build boost with rpms, but PD blowers have nearly full boost at all rpms. centri blowers are great for drag strip cars. PD blowers are great for everything else.

I also have an Avenger Supercharger on my 03 Rubicon but I cant find anyone close to Durango Colorado to tune it properly and I cant find the Company anymore.
Any help in pointing me in the right direction will be appreciated.

looks like their phone has been disconnected, and the Facebook hasn't been active since 2010. All signs point to out of business.

You will need a Split-Second FTC1 piggyback to tune your 03. If you call and talk to SplitSecond, they can hopefully point you in the right direction...I know they have turn-key base maps for supercharged Jeeps already figured out. I'm guessing you'll need to travel to Denver or Colorado Springs to find a tuning shop.
