AX-5 Trannys

I have a 98 4cyl 5 speed, is the tranny the ax-5 and does the filler plug have wires attached to it. I am wanting to check/ drain my tranny and everything I see is for the ax-15. I have located the drain plug and I think the filler plug is the one with the wires on it. Also whats the best fluid for the tranny 10w 30 or the redline mtf 90. Thanks in advance.

I used redline MT90 in my 97 AX-5. I don't recall any wires on the fill plug.

Passenger Side

I looked at the filler plug (i think) and it has a small wire attached to it. It was on the passenger side of the tranny. I will scope it out again and double check. Their is a excess fluid on my skid plate and i want to check the fluid level of the tranny to make sure its not low.

There is a wire running to a nut head with with fluid around it (dry) where it looks like it was filled til it ran out. i am lost on what this could be if its not the filler plug.

I think what you are referring to is the back up lamp sensor. Someone yesterday had the same question.

Yes it is!!

I found the hex bolt right above the bolt with wires, I ran my pinky finger in there to check the fluid level, and the fluid is pretty good, I just need to find a better way of checking fluid. My fat finger only goes in so far!! Thanks for the help.
