Unhappy Axle bearings

Today while heading to work, I could tell that something didnt feel right with my jeep I kept hearing a knocking around sound in my rear axles. It got to the point where I thought if I drove any further my axles and brakes were going to snap or fall of so I pulled over. My uncle who is a mechanic took a look at it later on and said my axle bearings had fallen apart and that my axle was starting to separate itself from my wheel. Always seem like there is something wrong with my axles. Anybody else have these problems?
