Axle Upgrades

So I am starting to plan out my axle upgrades, I have looked around a bit and was hoping someone could add anything on durability and gear choice

Dana 30/186MM Front Axle 3.73 ratio:
Is this worth putting a LSD in? Is it worth any upgrades or should I shop around for a D44, maybe I could even find one with 4.11 or 4.27, then just have the back re-geared.

Dana 44/226MM Rear Axle 3.73 ratio: I am thinking I am pretty set with this, just needing to do the gearing.

Now with running 33" tires it is looking like it could either be a 4.11 or 4.27 not sure which may be better? I just want to have an idea when I start talking to shops in the next couple weeks.

Going from 3.73 to 4.10 is like kissing your sister. Go with the 4.56 gears and you will be alot happier. When you change gears it may be the time to add lockers if the budget allows. I run ARB's and have not had any reliability issues with them. The open diffs on the street provides good street maners and the 100% lock up on the trail is great.

Jeeps never stop growing if you keep them long enough.

As for the 30 a upgrade to 30 spline alloy axles should be fine add a ox locker to it to,for the 44 33 spline axles and a ox locker and you will be ready to go 4.56 or 4.88 gearing

Looking at diffrent online sources, it looks like my front axle should be a 35 not the 30 that the Build sheet from Jeep says, I wonder if the build sheet could be wrong. I just need to get home next month and look under it

Hello from Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. Thanks for doing the dirty work. It would be a first for me to ever see a D35 under the front of a wrangler. I'd guess a D30.

Correct. The only Dana 35 front axle is a IFS center section D35 only put in Ford rangers/exploders.

The OP's front axle is a D30 easily identified from the photo's. One of the only 2 axles available from Jeep in the TJ. The D30 was standard for ALL TJ's. With the only exception being the rubicon with the D44 front.

The new 3o's can be built to live with up to 35" TIRES. There are are lot of parts avaliable to to make the 30 stronger. Dana never made a 35 for the front. Re-gear and have fun if you want to build a rock crawler you will need to upgrade to stronger axles anyway.
