I have and I hate um....they jam up all the time and when they are full ratchet they suck worse. The best thing you can buy IMO is a Hurst Quarterstick or a B&M Prostick

Never in a tj, but have done many b&m shifters in other vehicles. I don't care for the mega shifter myself. However the quick silver is a decent shifter if you want a ratchet type shifter! I don't believe it would fit very well though. The shifter base is taller then a factory tj shifter and the shroud they give you for it is of no use in a jeep if you don’t remove the console or do a lot of cutting.

I installed a B&M Sportshifter onto my previous '97 TJ's automatic. What a huge mistake that made shifting stiff, notchy, imprecise, and bad enough I had to look at the gear pointer to even know what gear it was in. That it looked very cool was far outweighed by its truly crappy shifting. I have an '04 now and no more B&M shifters for me.

I forgot to add that I run a quarterstick that has been modified in my truggy. I deleted the reverse lockout so I can slam reverse from first if I start to go backwards...has served me well a couple of times lol

Talking Hurst

I put a Hurst short throw shifter in and I love it. I run a 2000 TJ and the stick stays out of the way of the console and shifts like a dream, wouldn't trade it out for anything.

Nice, but we're talking replacing the entire shifter mechanism for an automatic transmission which is way different. The Hurst short throw is for a manual transmission and it only replaces the lever itself for a shorter throw.

Red face oops

Good looking out again Jerry, I wasn't paying close enough attention to the thread.

But if anybody running a 5 spd is thinking about the Hurst short throw its great!

ROCK ON

The gear pointer is gone on mine. I just count.
But in fairness, mine is really old.

Come on Geoff that's a CJ. LOL!
Love the duct tape wire hangers.

This from a guy who had 4 into 1 chrome side pipes on his Renegade.
Still got the burn scars to prove it.

It's against the laws of nature to have a CJ without duct tape. What's really bad is that they're holding wires going to speakers that don't actually work.
