Bad Frame

Hi I hope you fellow Jeep friends can help me make a decision. I have a 97 Jeep wrangler and I have frame rot on both rear near control arms . The welder said he can fix both sides for $1200 . But my question is how safe is it to do this . And is it woth it . I love my Jeep but the safety of my family and myself is first. My jeep has 117000 miles excellent engine and 4X4. Tranny is perfect. It is a bit rusty underneath. Should I fix her or sell her with known things that need attention and save up for another one. Please help . Thanks
I will post pictures as soon as I can .

For $1200.00, I would get another frame. I see a lot of used frames with little to no rust for under $600.00. All you nedd to be able to do is transfer everything over.

My main point is, He is fixing the rot you see - what about all of it that you can't see? I fear that you spend all that money on a turd of a frame and end up replacing it anyway.

Hi, I have the same rust. I wanted to share what I did to reinforce my frame. I had fun doing it and hopefully it bought my jeep a few extra miles on its life. I cut out a template using cardboard then traced it onto 3/16 diamond plate. I wish I could just replace the frame! Let me know what you think -Rich
