If that is rust coming out of the bearing capsin the pic on the right, yep they need replacing. Spicer's 5-760x would be a nice upgrade for the factory installed Spicer 5-297x ujoints.

When it comes to u-joints, if you have to ask...

From the looks of it, I'd replace them yesterday.

No they werent making any noise. Just shaking in the steering wheel when turning slowly. I added air to the tires, (they were a little low) and it was still shaking that same day. Since then though its been fine. I did get new u-joints though, gonna replace them anyway, since it wont hurt anything.
