Balljoint question

I'd like some opinions:

I lubed the front end of my 2000 Sport yesterday, and found that the rubber boot on one of the upper balljoints is shot... most of the grease I pumped in dribbled down the knuckle.

How much of a PITA is it to replace that boot ? (Last time I did anything like that was 30 years ago, and IIRC it WAS a PITA.)

Is it worth replacing to keep the balljoints from wearing (the Jeep has 100k on it), or should I just keep pumping in grease once in a while and wait until the balljoints need replacing ?

Thanks in advance.
