Banks Header ......cracks

I have the Banks Torque tube Header on my 97 TJ 4.0L

I thought I had a leaky gasket........... NOT ...........I have a cracked header !!
Right where the three tubes go into the "collector" on the backside
it's only three years old
anyone else have or had or heard of this problem with Banks Headers?
And yes......... Banks has a lifetime warranty ........if you are the original purchaser, but you still have the pain in the labor work taking them on & off

Banks and Borla headers are well known for cracking. Banks may have a lifetime warranty but a lot of good that does for you when you have to replace their header multiple times due to cracks. The type of header that has flexible steel bellows in the two areas the headers usually crack at is the way to go and on eBay, they are also a lot less $$$ than what Borla and Banks charge for their junk.

Check out http://www.carpartstoyourdoor.com/jeepman9199.htm which is that kind of header.

Once I went to that style header which is what Jeep went to in 2000, I stopped seeing cracked headers. With the old design, I had three that cracked on my '97 4.0L engine.
