Personally I think rear BPE's are very worth the money for them. I busted two upper bar pins before I got them. I've also got them on the front. Small change compared to the time they save you when messing with your shocks.

A bar pin is what the rear upper shocks mount to the rear cross member, and the front lower shock mounts to the axle.

It's a small bar that looks a little like a bow tie. Slips into your shock bushing. It's not the strongest piece of your jeep. Of course neither is the upper shock mounting point on a TJ.

Here is the stock bar pins.

And here is a bar pin eliminator kit.

I don't understand why that is a bar pin eliminator. It looks to me like a stronger bar pin, isn't it really just the same thing only stronger??

Bar Pin Eliminators are the same but a little different than bar pins. They capture the bushing/rubber and help it to function a bit better. The problem I had was that my bushing liked to slide back and forth on my old OEM pins, so when the suspension flexed the shock and bushing would move back and forth on the pin making a noise as is slid from one side to the other. The BPE's trap the bushing and in some cases compress it a little so this does not happen.

Are they worth the cash???? Probably could be lived without but they do make the bushing function the way it is supposed to by confining side to side movement.

FWIW nothing more then my opinion which with $1 might get you a cup of cheap coffee!
