Just bought a new battery and the car still won't start. All the dash gauges spike and then nothing. Please help

Sounds like a bad battery connection if everything goes dead. I'd remove, clean, and retighten all of the large gauge power connections under the hood, including the ground connection between the engine and tub.

I'll try that so do you think it could be the alternator? Hopefully not

A brand new battery? Probably not the alternator then. Have you tried jumping it?

No, that's why I suggested the connections and not the alternator.

Gauges should not spike like that.

Is it the correct battery orentation. Did you attach plus to plus. They make the same size battery with positive on the left and on the right. Double check.

Got too angry with it. And just took Shelby to the shop. It turns out she needed a now alternator and just battery connection clip things. They guy said they terminal connectors were corroded and rusted throughout.
