BDS 2" coils.

Thinking about purchasing the 2" lift BDS coils. How hard are these to install? Anyone provide a step by step how to? Will general tools get the job done? I think this will be a good time to start wrenching on the jeep myself. I am mechanically inclined, but mostly on small engines.. I was a small engine mechanic for 3 years and have worked on many motorcycles and 4 wheelers.

Piece of cake. Took me and a buddy a couple hours to do it. I had the BDS kit with the shocks as well and the steering stabilizer.

Did you have to use track bar relocation brackets?

I'm running 2" BDS springs. I did install a rear track bar bracket, and on the front I reinforced and re-drilled the axle bracket..

I installed a bracket on the rear. You only HAVE to if your tire is rubbing. In my case, I just wanted it centered.

The BDS kit does not necessitate having to relocate the track bar....the amount of lift does and how picky you are.

You install them like you would any other coil spring.

Yeah, I forgot that I did the relocation bracket as well. If I remember, that bracket was harder to put on then the shocks/springs. If I remember, we had to use tie downs to move the rear over to get the bolts through.

Great coils! I am a fan of their 2" coils.

When I was running the 2" BDS lift, I did not see enough axle shift (the bracket attempts to recenter the axle/diff) to cause concern for a bracket requirement, so I didn't install a bracket. I did not experience any ill effects either.

Note: if you were to look at my present build, I do have the bracket installed. This was a result of my SYE and tummy tuck installation .

Easy to install, start oiling them shock bolt though. Especially the rear upper ones and be careful when breaking them loose.

I really don't think you need one, but if you want to spend $...
OME makes a bracket for their 2" lift which would work with the similar 2" BDS lift.

Is there a video write up or a write up with a lot of pictures for the 2" BDS lift?
