Bed liner on hard top???

Howdy, all.
I recently noticed that the leading edge of my hard top is beginning to show some wear and tear.

I've been thinking about applying some paint-on "Bed Liner" from Lowes or maybe even a professional coating like Line-X (but that may a bit overkill).

Anybody have any insight?

Thanks, all......and have a SAFE and enjoyable holiday!

I've been thinking of doing that. It may make it a little more heavy though... I also want to bed line my fenders as well...

not necessarily the whole dang thing....

Maybe mask-off about the first 6" or so....ish....

Also considered just toing the outter edge all the way around...

Just tossing ideas up and seeing if anyone shoots.

I painted my 97 hardtop last October with Duplicolor truck bed coating.I used rattle cans, came out great, has not chipped or anything yet,but its only been 2 months.I first cleaned with simple green and a scotchbrite pad, rinsed and let dry. Then taped the glass, and prepped it with Duplicolor prep spray, one can was enough.Wiped it down with a clean microfiber cloth and stated spraying the truck bed coating.I bought about 8 cans, and switched to a new can when its down to maybe 1/3 left in the can to keep the spraying pressure the same.Couldnt be happier with the results!
