Bedlined my grill and bumper!

Finally got the time to repaint my fugly faded front bumper and my super chipped grill.

The bumper had what I'm pretty sure was plastidip used by the PO. Just tore that off, sanded everything, and wiped it down a couple times with acetone. We'll see how long this holds up.

Rustoleum bedliner (3 cans)
Lots of sandpaper
Newspaper
Painters tape

Looks bad ass man! It ties in well with the fender flares; they look like you bed lined them too?

berserk bedlining

That paint job looks awesome, love the black with the color of the body.

I've read many threads about bedlining and plastidipping... well guess what I saw the other day? A completely bedlined truck!! Has anyone done this to their jeep?

Just taped it up. Taking it off would've been too time consuming for pretty much the same effect IMO.

Nice! Looks great and matches well. Did you have to rough up the original surface or just paint away?

I roughed it up a little bit. Sanding the grill area is kind of annoying. The Rustoleum stuff adheres to the surface pretty well. I just made sure to clean it several times with acetone before I sprayed.

Thanks!

Nah not big on football haha. Was thinking about something more classy...like pink glitter accents with hello kitties and unicorns.

Just kidding I haven't reached that level of insanity yet.

I was thinking about painting the d rings red or some other color that stands out from the all the black. But I can't decide if red would look tacky bc everything else on my jeep is that gold/tan and black. What do you guys think?

When I got my bedliner done a couple of years ago, there was a Crew Cab Dodge 2500 sitting there that had just been done (entire truck). I asked what something like that cost.....$2800.

Wow! now, what would a "regular" paint job cost on that? and you would have the durability factor, I would guess...

I would suggest staying with the two colors you already have. Getting a third color to look right would involve carefully placing it several places around the jeep...

But to make a piece stand out a little you could mix textures, as in, use the bedliner on the D-rings for the texture then top coat them with the same gold as the body. Or you can get decals made that would add a frosted look to the body color... I'll try to find some examples...

accent samples

posting this for the concept of accenting with frosted vinyl. (I don't know anything about this company, it was just the best sample from my Google image search "vehicle frosted graphics")

matte black vehicle wrap on a Rubicon, just because it looks cool!

The PO put it on so I'm not really sure. I'm going to guess an early model of Poison Spyder. Saw a the same spider icon they use on all their products underneath the winch. Can anyone confirm?
