I have a 2000 wrangler and my girlfriend has a 2002. I noticed that when she leaves her lights on and opens the door, her jeep will beep at her. Mine doesn't do this. Is there something wrong with mine, or is this just a feature they installed in later years?
yeah my 02 beeps at me if I leave the keys in and have the door open... same with the head lights being on without the jeep running... I ended up yesterday taking the fuse out.. since I was annoyed with the idea that it would do that with the doors off!!
I figured it might be a fuse issue. I'll check it out and see. The only time it was a problem was when I first got it and left the lights on a couple times. Now I always remember to check before I leave.
It's on the same circuit as your door switches...so if you pulled the fuse for the door switches in order to drive doorless and never put it back in, that could be your issue. Do your interior lights come on when you open your door?
If yes, then it's probably a problem with the little beeper as mentioned above.
