well best and cheap don't go together.. in either case. I would use a block of wood and pound it out as best you can from the inside. Then a few things come to mind:

1. bondo it over and sand and paint..
2. Add a set of rocker panel guards figure several hundred
3. hit a muddy trail and don't wash it off.

Why hide it? That there is a good story to tell. Even if it happened in the driveway.

Not many look for "cheap" rocker rails, but didn't one model of jeep come with some "decorative" rockers? Plastic diamond plate?

Did you grill the bald eagle?

Find a local welder friend...have him cut you some armor out of steel stock...paint it black. tah-dah cheap rocker reinforcement.

Cheapest way to hid it is probably to pound it out as best you can. After that, prep it and coat the whole rocker section w/ Herculiner. The texture in the Herculiner will help hide any imperfections. I'd then do the other side as well. Plus, when you're done you should have plenty left over to do your tub.

I beat up my rocker back in the day. I put the rockers on and beat the panel out just to help keep mud and gunk from getting between the panels.

Once the rocker was installed you couldn't see it.

Im pretty sure the rockers that came with my Rubicon are metal. They do look like plastic sometimes though.

Some Sahara models had an optional trim package.
